Since 2003, golfers and Camp Sunshine friends have gathered for a day of their sport, food, and fun, for the last dozen years at Thornapple Pointe. The event was instigated by the Antvelink family to honor the memory of their daughter, sister, and aunt, Lana, who had been a camper since the first summer of Camp Sunshine.
Last year’s event was pandemic-modified so that golfers could participate at any time throughout the summer; we’re grateful to Thornapple Pointe for their flexibility and support! We’re thrilled, though, for the 19th Annual Charity Golf Event, to be hosting a same-day, in-person gathering at our long-time venue in Grand Rapids.
What’s different this year is that we’ll have morning and afternoon flights, which increases the capacity and schedule flexibility for golfers. What’s the same is scramble format, special competitions and prizes, good food before and after golfing, and plenty of fun and fellowship. Beyond the sport, food, and fun, this event has made a significant contribution—over $400,000 in total—to Camp Sunshine’s program budgets over its nearly two decades.
Registration is now open! Recruit your foursome and plan to see us on the greens! (If you’re interested in sponsoring this event, it’s not too late. Investigate the options here.)
