Meet Up to Run for the Sun
The Run for the Sun 5K and one-mile fun walk is right around the corner! You can register until 6 p.m. on July 13 to participate on Wednesday, July 14, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Unsupervised routes on the Hope College campus and surrounding neighborhood for both the 5K and Fun Walk are on the RunSignUp website.
If you’re missing the socializing and friendly competition of running or walking with others, there are some meet-up opportunities to energize you. Join teams already planning to run 5K routes at these locations if you’re nearby:
In Mona Shores, meet at the Mona Shores High School track at 8 a.m.
In Hamilton, meet at the Hamilton High School Stadium at 6 p.m.
In Machesney Park, Illinois, meet at the Harlem High School gym at 8 a.m. (Central)
You can use the RaceJoy app to track your run and submit your time when you’ve completed your course.
If a walk is more your style, you can experience some Sunshine community at these times and places:
In Holland, meet at the steps of Dimnent Chapel on Hope’s campus at 9:30 a.m. to walk with Kathy, Cindy, Brie, Matt, and Mayor Bocks and his wife Elizabeth.
In Grand Haven, meet at Central Park at 4:30 p.m. to walk with Nurse Jeannie, Nurse Julie, and Kathy.
Whenever and wherever you walk or run, take some pix! When you post them to social media, use the hashtag #CSRunfortheSun for some virtual togetherness.
