Sunshine Fall Festival Coming Right Up!

Staff at Camp Sunshine and Camp Henry are readying the pumpkin piles—and all the rest of the plans and supplies—for the Sunshine Fall Festival, happening this Saturday, October 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Camp Henry is hosting the event for the Camp Sunshine community. As Program Director Brie Richardson says, “The Camp Henry team has put on a fall fest for years! We were thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with them and infuse some Sunshine into their fall fun. Their staff is incredible and always fun to collaborate with.”

“Folks at Camp Henry have been awesome to work with and have poured a ton of time in planning the day's events to make it meaningful for the Sunshine community,” Program Director Lindsey Mandolini agrees. “Our Sunshine Leaders have helped us think about what makes Camp Sunshine experiences special, and we've done our best to incorporate that magic into the event!”

“The campus is absolutely beautiful and holds so many fun memories,” Brie says, and Lindsey is also looking forward to the place: “It's like coming home! I look forward to reliving memories in that space—and creating some new!”

There’s fun (arts and crafts, pumpkin games and decorating, hayrides, and songs and stories by the bonfire) and food (lunch is included) in store. What’s most anticipated, though, is the people themselves. “Seeing several Sunshine community members during the Fun Walk for Run for the Sun took my breath away,” says Kathy Rohlman, Executive Director. “I hadn't realized how much I missed being in person with our community to share life together. To share a day with our community, in a space like Camp Henry, is what many of us have longed for.”

“There is no other rejuvenation that I have experienced in my life,” Brie adds, ‘“than that which I experience when amongst the Sunshine community.”
