The Camp Sunshine tradition and culture developed through multi-day overnight camp session, which provided a fully immersive experience and one-to-one camper/counselor pairings. That model remains the most complete Camp Sunshine experience, and we’ve learned a lot from our experiences in 2020!

There’s every reason to spread Sunshine throughout the year, and to people who may not be interested in or qualified for overnight camp attendance. To that end, we’re developing a series of programs, some of which we’ll launch this summer and fall; others will debut in 2022, when we also hope to be able to host overnight camp.

Sunshine online

Beginning July 2021

The very best use of Zoom is for dance parties and sing-alongs (we’ve heard some people like it for meetings, too). In addition, we’re exploring cooking and adaptive exercise classes, shared arts and crafts projects, and more. Check here for more!

DAY events

Beginning with Sunshine Fall Festival October 2021

On October 2, we’re taking the Sunshine spirit to Camp Henry, where we will be hosted for a day of fun and all things fall, wagon rides to apple pie. Future Sunshine day events will invite campers, counselors, and volunteers to share experiences, engage with the broader community, and support local businesses—zoo to blueberry farm and anywhere in between.

2022 and beyond

Camp Sunshine Overnight Camp

We can’t wait to gather for multi-day overnight camp once again! We know what a joy-filled and transformative experience it is for those who attend—because it’s that for us, too.

Weekend Retreats

With one or two overnights, weekend retreats can focus on interest, a location (like one of our partner camps), or other criteria.

Daytime Camp

Daytime camp sessions are envisioned as embodying elements of the traditional overnight camp experience through stories, songs, crafts, entertainment, and activities, without the overnight stay.

“I will never be able to forget the love and acceptance that pours out of everyone here at camp. The inclusivity and openness here is incomparable.”
