Disability Pride Resource Roundup

Camp Sunshine has many reasons to celebrate this year and we find it most appropriate to join others in celebrating Disability Pride for the month of July. "Disability is a part of the rich tapestry of human diversity…All disabilities and their intersecting identities should be acknowledged, valued, and respected, and one way to do that is during Disability Pride Month." Jackie Dilworth, communications director at The Arc of the United States, a disability rights organization.

Just like other months of the year that focus upon minority groups and their contributions to our nation’s history, July is an opportunity to honor the history, achievements, and experiences of Americans with Disabilities. Curious to learn more about Disability Justice, inclusion, or how the disability movement has changed history? Here’s a roundup of resources that the Camp Sunshine team has found helpful in our training and educational journey.
