Giving Options
There are many meaningful ways to support Camp Sunshine beyond traditional cash gifts or wish list donations.
Qualified Charitable Distribution: You can make a lasting impact by donating appreciated assets, such as stocks or mutual funds that have increased in value, or by making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA. These types of gifts can offer significant tax advantages, allowing you to avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a charitable deduction for the full value of your contribution. It’s a simple, powerful way to maximize your giving and help ensure that Camp Sunshine continues providing life-changing experiences for our community.
Donor Advised Fund: A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible way to support the causes you care about. A DAF is a charitable giving account you establish through a sponsoring organization, such as a community foundation or financial institution.
You can contribute cash, stocks, or other assets to your DAF, receive an immediate tax benefit, and then recommend grants to nonprofits over time. Camp Sunshine is happy to accepts gifts made via DAF.

Endowment Funds: Endowment funds are a special way to support Camp Sunshine - the principal funds remain intact, while a percentage of the income is distributed to the benefitting organization. Camp Sunshine Endowment Funds are located at the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area and the Grand Haven Community Foundation.
