On Thursday, September 25, the Camp Sunshine community lost a beloved member, Mark Bush. Both as a song leader and a champion, Mark was a pillar for Camp Sunshine through every season of change.

Summer camp is often a rite of passage for many young people. It is a place of transformation and character building. Camp Sunshine is no different, but is special for many other reasons.

Camp Sunshine’s summer sessions wrapped up on June 30, but over the last few weeks, we’ve been reflecting on the meaningful experiences of each session. Last November our staff and a few members of our leadership team landed on the theme BRAVE! After all, there’s a million stories to tell and songs to sing about being BRAVE.

Camp Sunshine has formed, beyond summer camp, into a true, lifelong community of acceptance, and we treasure each member.
